The South Starts it`s NKRA Campaign at Clay Pigeon

The South of Britain started its 2010 Championship trail on a cold but sunny weekend in March at Clay Pigeon.   A late flurry of  registrations saw a further 8 competitors join the ‘fray’  (which included a few novices).  The NKRA championships allow for a 1 drop option, so no doubt, there will be more drivers involving themselves before Round 2 which is scheduled for April 18th at Buckmore park.
In the meantime the opening results for Cadet Comer go to Harrison Thomas and Harry Williams.  In cadet Honda Billy Monger from Buckmore took the lead followed by Robbie Gallier, Charlie Harris and Ari White.   The Mini-Max class was claimed by Llandow`s James Williams from local boy Oliver Pidgley, whilst Ashley Goodliffe and Ben Pearson  shared the honours in Junior Blue.   The largest NKRA class on the day., was Formula Blue here, Craig Copeland carried on where he left off from last year by Winning ! Kevin Ford maintains his 2009 Challenge by finishing in 2nd spot where he is joined, by Mark Wylde,  a returnee to Karting.   Robin Brotherwood is only 3 points behind in 4th spot.  The Masters Section sees Kevin Ford take the lead from Ron Shone with Mark Wylde in command of the Top Weight once again from Ron Shone.  The lead in the Veterans section, however, goes to Ron Shone. Two Forest Edge racers, George Lovell and Jake Sturt,  lead the Rotax Max class.  The introduction of the Buckmore drivers at the next round should add a little more spice to this class.

The Blues,  both Junior and Senior,  now move on to the Three Sisters Circuit, at Wigan for their  ‘0’ Plate competition, which also includes Round 2 of the Blue Challenge.  Then the whole NKRA Regional Championship moves across to Kent for Round 2 at Buckmore Park on the 18th of April.
