Edgecumbe wins in Style at LLandow

A hot A    A hot summers weekend of racing welcomed the Southern NKRA racers at Llandow for their 4th Round.  An extra 5 registered drivers had     swollen    the Southern grid to 72, the highest for 3 years.

It was all change at the front of Cadet Comer as Ryan Anderton and Harry Williams came 2nd and 1st respectively to tie at the front of the Championships.  Harrison Thomas had a poor day,  by his standards, and has dropped to 3rd overall.  Thomas suffering from his missed 3rd round taking away his drop option.

Robbie Gallier cleaned up in Cadet Honda with George Thomson 2nd overall and Ari White 3rd.  Charlie Harris, however, maintains his 3rd spot in the Championship.

Macaulay Austin, in Mini Max, was in dominant form but doesn’t figure in the overall points having missed the opening 2 rounds.  James Williams who finished 2nd on the day holds the Championship lead.  Behind him it’s a tight battle between David Wright and Peter Griffin, only separated by 1 point.

A much increased Junior Blue grid saw Ryan Edgecumbe take the day from Ben Pearson.  Pearson, however, increased his lead in the championship table.  Alexander Morris’s absence from this round saw him fall from 2nd overall to 8th.

Craig Copeland stamped his authority on the Formula  Blue class with a lights to flag win.  Behind him Duncan McLeod and David Washington shared 2nd Place points on the day.  Copeland, by virtue of his day’s dominance has extended his Championship lead.  Mark Wylde had a poor set of heats, however, he had an impressive drop option in the ‘locker’ to maintain his 2nd overall sport from Sam Smithson and Kevin Ford.

A poorly supported Rotax Max grid worked well for Luke Gee who scored minimum points to move him into 2nd place behind George Lovell with Jake Sturt in 3rd.

The final Regional round scheduled for July 11th at Clay  Pigeon will prove to be both interesting and competitive as many of the trophy position are separated by the nearest of margins.
